The Highlander's Choice

Beautiful adventure between an English lady and a Scottish man! I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review! I really enjoyed Callie Hutton's fifth story The Highlander's Choice, in her Marriage Mart Mayhem series. I liked her characters Sybil, Liam, Margaret and Duncan. Lady Sybil Lacey, a very English woman, is horrified that her best friend Margaret, is betrothed to a Scottish Laird. Since, she is invited to her wedding in Scotland, she decides to accompany her. But as soon as she meets Margaret's future husband Duncan and his neighbor Liam MacBride, she can't help her attraction to Liam, a Scot. She can’t have feelings for a Scot, she’s English! She had many prejudices against these men, and Liam felt the same way towards the English women. When we read the first chapters, she can't stop bickering and he kept on teasing her! Both were quite a pair! I really felt the discomfort between two people who came from different background. But spending time together, Sybil with soften up a little, stop complaining and give a chance to Liam. Enters Liam’s mother, lady MacBride, she is a very stubborn lady and only wishes a Scottish lass for his son, she doesn’t even give a chance to Sybil. Some scenes are so cute! When, his mother is testing Sybil if she can become the perfect mistress of the castle, by giving her chores. Being a gentle and kind woman, Sybil will play her game. How will she ever please her future mother-in-law? Will Liam put his foot down and give his mum an ultimatum? Will she finally understand who is best for him? Will the attraction between a free spirit and a devilish man ignite a sweet passion? Will their true love be able to survive with all these twists and turns? All these questions will be answered when you read their romantic story! I really loved the end! I strongly recommend The Highlander's Choice! It’s fast paced, very well written and filled with passion and intrigue! I’m looking forward to read her next book The Highlander’s Accidental Marriage, the story of Sybil’s twin sister Sarah!
