About this eBook

Tessa Cutter escaped her tiny hometown and chased her artistic dreams straight to Manhattan. Now she’s home for a camping trip with her family. To keep them off her back, she makes up the perfect pretend boyfriend—successful, important, and most of all, permanently located in New York.

Logan Ridley lost everything when his Manhattan-based personal training studio shut down. Luckily, a friend got him a position as a gym teacher in the small town of Cutter’s Creek. He’s heard a lot about the infamous Tessa, but she’s even better than he imagined. Except, she seems to hate everything about the small town he’s growing to love.

The chemistry sparking between them is impossible to ignore, but falling for Logan will trap Tessa in the small town she worked so hard to escape. If they have any hope of a future together, he’ll have to convince her that everything she wants has been in Cutter’s Creek all along...

With The Hometown Hoax, Ms. Thurmeier composed a story that is somewhat idealistic but cute none the lest. This read reminded me of the saying " one person's junk may be another's treasure." Tessa saw Cutter's Creek for everything it lacked and was not. Maybe because it was her hometown and she wanted more than to be cut off from new experiences, new people and a different environment. Logan saw it in the opposite way because he had already experienced fast paced living and adventurous experiences. The Hometown Hoax is a story of perception, deception and distinguishing between the two. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. The heart of this book is finding out what is most important.

I really enjoyed this one. It's light and fun, nothing too deep but completely entertaining. Cute and intriguing characters and a nice story at the core. Tessa Cutter fled her small hometown for a couple reasons. First, her desire to make something of her art career. Secondly, her family is driving her crazy. She loves them but their meddling is just too much. Now she's back for a family camping trip where she meets the very hot Logan Ridley. He's a new arrival to Cutter Creek but it seems he's very content to stay there so he's unavailable in Tess's book. But the chemistry between them is strong and a few holiday memories seem like a good idea. Logan wants more though, can he convince her that her family and Cutters Creek isn't as bad as she thinks? I recommend this one!

About the author

Heather Thurmeier is a lover of strawberry margaritas, a hater of spiders, and a reality TV junkie. Born and raised in the Canadian prairies, she now lives in New York with her husband and kids where she’s become some kind of odd Canuck-Yankee hybrid. When she's not busy taking care of the kids and pets, Heather’s writing her next romance, which will probably be filled with sassy heroines, sexy heroes who will make your heart pound, laugh out loud moments, and always a happily ever after. She loves to hear from readers on social media and her website!
