About this eBook

The world of Harmony has its wonders, one of them being Rainshadow Island.
Just beneath its surface, a maze of catacombs hides a dangerous secret…

Halloween—with its tricks and treats—is a dust bunny’s dream come true. Just ask Lyle, Sedona Snow’s faithful sidekick. But for Sedona, it’s a nightmare. Though her new job managing a small hotel and tavern on Rainshadow is helping her move on from her tragic past, a bizarre disaster down in the catacombs has brought a pack of rowdy ghost hunters to her inn.

And now, Sedona’s ex has arrived on the island, claiming he wants to get back together, just as a newcomer appears to have a strong interest in her. Cyrus Jones is the new Guild boss in town. He has his own agenda when it comes to Sedona, but even the best-laid plans are no match for the passion that springs up on Rainshadow…

Trust Jayne Ann Krentz to bring another great book our way in anyway that she writes under any of her names. Another dust bunny that is absolutely adorable. And even more mysterious happenings on our favorite island of Rainshadow. Hang on for a great read.

Okay so this is a book you have to read from the beginning of the series. The Hot Zone is the 3rd book in the Rainshadow series and the 11th book in the Harmony/Arcane series (its a little confusing if you haven't been reading the other books to know why there are connections from previous installments) The Hot Zone follows Sedona after she is thrown into a catastrophe of a past it catches up with her attempting to remake her life and find a nice little niche for herself when surprise surprise more tragedy strikes, and of course the ex walks back onto the scene. Isn't that just like life? When things are going great all but who shows up? I really loved Cyrus already so I found myself just a smidge partial. I loved how well a supporting hero he was and as a man that knew how to embrace and support a woman for who and what she was without stifling her or stepping on her shine. I thought Jayne has done a great job creating a read that plays right into the Halloween season as well as the rest of the year and also dips a nod at her previous books for fans that have been through it for the long haul.
