About this eBook

A young woman's dream, an old man's gift, and the surprises that await us behind every closed door. . .

The house on the hill outside San Francisco was magnificent, built in 1923 by a wealthy man for the woman he adored. When Sarah, a perfectly sensible lawyer, walks through its empty rooms, she is drawn to the once-grand mansion in a way she cannot explain.- to a drama that first unfolded in war-torn France, and to a history she never knew she had.

Using an unexpected legacy, Sarah takes on the dilapidated house and its mysteries.
With the help of architect Jeff Parker Sarah brings the exquisite house back to life, and as one relationship shatters and another begins, she discovers a whole new future.

A novel of daring and hope, of embracing life and taking chances ...

It was a lovely book like the author. I just loved the fact that Danielle Steel once again succeeded in keeping me glued to the book all the time. The starting part is great but gradually the same concept starts getting stretched in the last chapters and the ending is very simple. I really love her writing style, her characters and her of course! This one wasn't her best of the bests, but I know that this lady has written other simply beautiful masterpieces... The 1st ★ was for Danielle Steel. 2nd ★ was for the protagonists. 3rd ★ was for her writing style and the bits of slight humour scattered throughout. The☆☆ had been for dragging a concept in last chapters and a simple story.
