5 star Review The Illusion Series (The Complete Trilogy) by D Kelly I have no idea where to start with this review. All I can say is that D Kelly is a new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why that is. This is the first three books in this amazing series and I had no idea when I volunteered to review these books just what I was in for. To be honest, I fully expected a typical Rockstar romance, I could not have been more wrong. Just an Illusion - Side A: Amelia Greyson through a chance meeting is hired to write the story of the members of Bastards and Dangerous. It’s the chance of a lifetime for the recently published author when she meets the members backstage after a concert she attends with her best friend Belle a blogger for a music magazine. Neither Amelia (Mel) or Belle have any idea how their lives are about to change. Complication arise when Mel is attracted to twins Noah and Sawyer Weston, the front men for BAD. I felt her pain as she made her decision which twin was the one for her. I knew that this was going to get awfully complicated but I had no idea, just how much and the ramifications that would be so far reaching. I absolutely adored the secondary characters, particularly Belle and I was so happy when she and Darren got together as well. I loved both Noah and Sawyer for different reasons and was torn as to who I wanted to win Mel’s heart. I will say that I was absolutely shocked by events in this book and how Ms. Kelly ended Side A. Just an Illusion - Side B: This book picks up where Side A leaves off so you must read Side A first, before continuing on. I hurried on to Side B with fear and a sickening feeling in my stomach. It was as I feared, this book shattered me. It was such an emotional roller coaster of a read that drew so many emotions, I am finding it hard to review for fear of accidentally spoiling the story. There were so many highs in this book, with many lows which left me in tears and devastated. The writing was amazing and I became totally invested in all these characters, so much so that I couldn’t put this book down. Just an Illusion - EP: Wow, not a whole lot more I can say. I thought I had cried before but this one shattered my heart into so many pieces before it was put back together. What a truly gifted writer D.Kelly is, the emotional journey she has brought us through is one that will leave me with a book hangover for a ling time. This is one of the best trilogy’s I have read. There is light at the end of a very dark tunnel and I loved the relationships and banter between the friends. Their love and support of one another was truly heart warming. Have your tissues and a glass of wine at the ready because you will surely need both.
