About this ebook

The Invisible Man is a popular science-fiction novel by H.G. Wells. Published in 1897, the story of the novel concerns the life and death of a scientist named Griffin who has gone mad. After learning how to make himself invisible, Griffin begins to use his invisibility for heinous activities, including murder. Interestingly, when he is finally killed, his body becomes visible again. The novella is also an allegory of the dangers of unchecked science. The plot of the novel begins as a man strangely dressed comes into an inn named ‘Coach and Horses’ in Iping which is owned by Halls — Janny Hall and George Hall. The man is taken to his room by Mrs. Hall. But when she comes into his room, the man quickly hides his face. She, however, believes he has been in an accident and is disfigured because he is wrapped with bandages.

The Invisible Man was adopted to the stage and was released as an American horror film in 1933. The film is considered one of the classics of that genre, especially noted for its groundbreaking visual effects.
