When Tinkie and Tess refuse to go to sleep on Christmas Eve, they catch the Sand Man on his evening rounds. Editor, translator, and anthologist J. Walker McSpadden (1874–1960) is the author of numerous books on a variety of subjects that range in diversity from Robin Hood to opera to Shakespeare. Artist Edward L. Chase is the author of instructional books on drawing; he is the grandfather of comedian Chevy Chase.
