About this ebook

You think you know those closest to you. You are wrong...

A sleep-deprived new mother approaching her fortieth birthday, the very last thing Louisa wants to do is celebrate.

But when her friend Tiff organises a surprise party, inviting the entire list of Louisa’s Facebook friends, Louisa is faced with a room full of people she hasn’t spoken to in years – including someone she never expected to see again: her ex-boyfriend, Oliver Dunmore.

When Oliver’s wife Melissa goes missing after the party, everyone remembers the night differently. Someone knows what happened to Melissa, and Louisa is determined to find them. But the truth could be closer, and the deception more devastating, than she’d ever imagined...

A gripping psychological suspense novel, perfect for fans of My Lovely Wife, The Couple Next Door, The Woman in the Window, and The Wife Between Us.

Louisa is a new mum with a new baby and a teenager to keep her busy. Sheer lack of sleep has her at her wits end, when she is offered the chance of a night away with her best friend, to recharge her batteries. Unknown to her, as a surprise for her upcoming 40th birthday, her husband and best friend have organised a party, inviting everyone on her Facebook profile! This opens up the biggest can of worms possible, threatening to dislodge the very fabric of Louisa's life. The phrase "page-turner" must have been coined with this book in mind!! From the very first chapter, I couldn't put it down. Its fast paced story with intriguing characters draws you in, hook, line and sinker! I hesitate to say this, but I think this may well be the best book I've read in a while!

Don’t even trust your own best friend with your Facebook password or you could end up being the subject of a surprise party where all the people on your friends list, some that you have not even seen in 20 years, and some that you don’t even really know, have been invited!! Her husband Brian and best friend Tiff mean well, but Louisa who is suffering from exhaustion, due to the unexpected arrival of her second child Noah, and raising her teenage daughter Emily, is struggling to put one foot in front of the other, and the last thing she wants is to celebrate turning 40! Add to this, seeing her ex-boyfriend Oliver from college who she thought at the time was the love of her life, turn up with his wife Melissa, what is she to do to get through the night? Drink of course!! But then Melissa disappears after the party and Louisa who was quite intoxicated and has no recollection of the night, starts to have visions of a woman bloodied and dead. Is this Melissa…? and as she is having these visions does that mean Louisa could be responsible? Oliver as Melissa’s husband, becomes the prime suspect and to try and clear his name, enlists the help of Louisa who is reluctant to spend time with him, and it isn’t long before Oliver weasels his way back into Louisa’s life and that of her family and best friend. But on top of the visions, it is clear as the story progresses that Louisa is also suffering from post natal depression. She is becoming forgetful and isn’t coping with looking after Noah much to the concern of Brian, Emily, Tiff and now Oliver! As her family try and help her, Oliver starts to drop these little bombs from their past to an event that Louisa must face which in turn could solve the mystery of Melissa’s disappearance. But what will this uncover and will it push Louisa already fragile over the edge, or is Oliver not as innocent in this as he claims to be? This is a real page tuner that kept me reading well into the night. A who done it with all the right ingrediants to make a psychological thriller great! Thank-you to Netgalley, Avon Books UK and Sam Carrington for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Missing Wife in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and are not biased in anyway.

Not quite sure if the ending was as thrilling as the rest of the story but I still couldn't put it down!
