It’s the off-season in Cascade Cove, and a disgruntled magician, Rufus the Magnificent, is in town to perform his final magic show. But things aren’t that magnificent for the people of the Cove when a body is found on the dangerous rocky terrain leading to the old Beachside Beacon.
Sarah is excited to enjoy her first Christmas in Florida, and her spontaneous grandpa and sassy cousin go above and beyond to make it her best one yet. Although stringing lights on palm trees and flamingoes with Santa hats are not on Sarah’s list of typical Christmas traditions, she is excited to partake in the annual Surfing Santas event. That is, until she runs into a mysterious figure who may or may not be the killer.
As the whole town prepares for the festivities, Sarah and Adam team up to locate the elusive suspect and wrap up the case before the holiday season is a bust. Could this peculiar person who’s lurking around the small beachside town be the murderer? Or do they hold the answers to the magician’s secrets behind the magic?

Now she is hoping to spread her love of mysteries through her new Whodunit Pet Cozy Mystery Series. Centered around a cozy beachside town, the series features a cast of interesting characters and their pets, along with antiques, crafts such as knitting, and plenty of culinary delights.
Mel lives with her husband, two kids, and a rambunctious and bossy Yorkie named Ruby.
