About this eBook

INCLUDING A BRAND NEW SHORT STORY ‘Compelling, addictive...brilliant’ B A ParisIt was just a party. But it turned into a nightmare.

When Rachel wakes up in a strange room, the morning after a neighbour’s party, she has no memory of what happened the night before. Why did her husband leave her alone at the party? Did they row? Why are Rachel’s arms so bruised? And why are her neighbours and friends so vague about what really happened?

Little by little, Rachel pieces together the devastating events that took place in a friend’s house, at a party where she should have been safe. Everyone remembers what happened that night differently, and everyone has something to hide. But someone knows the truth about what happened to Rachel. And she’s determined to find them.

The Party is the gripping new novel from bestseller Lisa Hall.

My first book from this author but also my last. Liked the thought of getting stuck into a suspenseful page-turner, but it left me disappointed. Didn't warm to any of the characters. Granted, you were supposed to have suspicions on some, but I didn't even like the lead character. She was needy, whiny, self-absorbed, shallow, an embarrassment to woman-kind and as the book progressed, completely ridiculous, as was the writing. Several hours of my life I will not get back, awful. I will stick with Cara Hunter or Karin Slaughter in future, this was not for me!

This sounded like a great story! It just wasn't enough to capture my attention and I figured out who it was pretty quickly. This was very similar to many other psychological thrillers but not as well written.

The story was quite boring and the end totally disappointing. But the worse part were the dilogues, it was like reading a 'tele novela' some times.

About the author

LISA HALL loves words, reading and everything there is to love about books. She dreamed of being a writer since she was a little girl and after years of talking about it, was finally brave enough to put pen to paper (and let people actually read it). Lisa lives in a small village in Kent, surrounded by her towering TBR pile, a rather large brood of children, dogs, chickens and ponies and her long-suffering husband. She is also rather partial to eating cheese and drinking wine. Readers can follow Lisa on Twitter @LisaHallAuthor
