About this eBook

The Perfect Couple... A match made in HEAVEN or HELL?

‘Chillingly believable and utterly compelling’ Lucy Foley, No.1 bestselling author of The Hunting Party
‘The perfect summer read. A classy thriller. Stylish, twisty and full of suspense’ Sarah Pinborough, No.1 bestselling author of Behind Her Eyes

When Emily applies for a job as a housekeeper for widower Rupert, it’s a chance to start over – a steady job and regular money means she can work towards her own place, not sharing a grimy flat with old mate, Mags.

As Emily gets to know more about Rupert’s world – how he likes his supper when he comes in from work, who his friends are – she can make sure everything runs like clockwork for him.

Soon there’s a spark between them; Rupert likes Emily and invites her to stay. For good.

To the outside world, they really seem to be a perfect match. There’s just the small issue of what really happened to Rupert’s first wife...

A gripping, razor-sharp game of cat and mouse, from the bestselling author, Lisa Hall.

Praise for The Perfect Couple:

‘Chillingly believable and utterly compelling with thrills aplenty — I loved this book’ Lucy Foley, No.1 bestselling author of The Hunting Party

‘The perfect summer read. A classy thriller that’s stylish, twisty and full of suspense, Hall’s novel is garnished with echoes of the classics such as Rebecca and Gaslight, but is very much a delicious cocktail all of its own’ Sarah Pinborough, No.1 bestselling author of Behind Her Eyes

‘Razor-sharp’ The Sun

‘Chock-full of menace, red herrings, and well-drawn characters who pull you one way, then hurl you in the opposite direction. I had my theories – they were all wrong! Highly recommend’ Caz Frear, No.1 bestselling author of Sweet Little Lies

‘Think Rebecca, Body Heat, and Gaslight. Lisa Hall’s dark thriller plays on three classic tropes and does the seemingly unimaginable: it improves on them. You’re going to devour this one’ Christina Dalcher, bestselling author of Vox and Q

‘A sharp game of cat and mouse with a brilliant, twisty plot. Unputdownable!’ Candis

‘Darkly addictive and impossible to predict, this is Lisa Hall at her absolute best’ CWA Dagger-winning author Chris Whitaker

Really enjoyed this book. There are so many tiwsts and turns that you do not see what was coming. So many people to suspect and theories I had that were squashed by the end.... just wow. It took me 7 months to read the last book I was on and just 3 days to finish this one. Could not put it down and loved every second of it!!!

My Review: Wow, wow, wow, this book kept me up all night and I had no regrets in the morning. This is the first book by this author that I read and I can’t wait to read more. I had won this book on a Facebook contest and I’m so lucky that I did. I got introduced to my new favorite author. This book was about Emily who went through a bad break up and her trying to move on with her life. She answered an ad for a house cleaner and she never bargained for a husband out of it. Was this a perfect couple story? Did it have a happy ending? What could really go wrong? Oh you find out these answers and much more. I want to start off by saying this is definitely not your typical love story. There were sinister things at play and I loved that about this book. This whole book was not what it seemed. When I thought one thing was going to happen, nope, another thing did. I was way off base and I loved that. It kept me guessing the whole entire book. You never knew which character was hiding the best secret as they all had something they were running from. This whole book worked so well together with the characters and all the twists. I felt like I was on a merry go round that I never wanted to get off from. Lisa Hall definitely knocked this one out of the ball park. Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

About the author

Lisa Hall loves words, reading and everything there is to love about books. She has dreamed of being a writer since she was a little girl and after years of talking about it, was finally brave enough to put pen to paper (and let people actually read it). Lisa lives in a small village in Kent, surrounded by her towering TBR pile, a rather large brood of children, dogs, chickens and ponies and her long-suffering husband. She is also rather partial to eating cheese and drinking wine.
