This is a sweet enemies to lovers romance. "The Playboy's Proposal" by Ashlee Mallory is book number three in the "Sorensen Family" series. The book is a standalone. This is Doctor Benny Sorensen and Henry Ellison's story. Henry is a wealthy playboy who works hard and parties hard. Benny placed a complaint to the condo board about the noise coming from his condo. Henry confronts Benny about the complaint and offers her a deal. He offers to help her with a makeover so that she can get a doctor at her work to notice her. Benny accepts the deal. This is where things get interesting. There is great chemistry between Henry and Benny. I loved the banter between them. It was fun watching their relationship change and develop. Get cozy and enjoy this fun, lighthearted sweet romance with lots of humor. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review.

Loved it! Benny is a pediatrician fresh out of residency and working in her first real job as a doctor. The pediatric group she joined has a very attractive single doctor, Luke, who is just so perfect for her that she is in love with him. The only problem is that Luke doesn't seem to know she exists and the only interactions she has with him are when she's falling, dropping, or spilling something. After just one visit to her practice, neighbor Henry (and uncle to the young Ella) sees right through her. As a voracious playboy, he is just the one to help her change her image and snare the doctor's attention....and, if in return she drops her complaints to the condo board about him, so much the better. As Henry helps her with clothes, make-up, hair, flirting, etc., he's suddenly not as comfortable with Benny and Luke together..... Life has taught Henry that there are not happily ever afters and he isn't even sure if he'd deserve a HEA - even if they existed. So he will tamp down his own attraction to Benny and support her with Luke. This is a delightful take on the classic ugly duckling turns into a swan. Fans of the genre will love this book.

Henry and Benny are fun. Some of the scenarios border on absurd but that adds to the charm of the romance. Benny at first meeting comes across uptight, stressed and high maintenance. In reality she's more down to earth. After devoting a great deal of time to her career, she just wants a chance to relax. She dreams of a life that is less lonely and separate from her work. One of the reason's Henry gets under her skin is he has the freedom that she longs for. Lots of parties, not bogged down with countless responsibilities and he's not bad on the eyes either. From the outside looking in he's living the dream. Looks can be deceiving. The Playboy's Proposal is more light hearted comedy than dramatic fanfare but it does hint at a little sexy along the way.
