I came to this series after finding out about the Dresden Files. This book and the series are not in the same vein though. Where Dresden is about havoc and mayhem, Cade is clean and efficient. The story moves along quickly, with the blurbs that begin each chapter making me pause and in some instances do a quick google search. The idea that the darkness is tangible and trying to reach you is fun. That the darkness wears a suit and may or may not pay for take out Chinese food with a government expense account adds to the universe. I suggest anyone else give it a shot.

Good book, will definitely read the third. I wish Blood Oath showed up as part of the trilogy since I own both that book and this one, only the 2nd and 3rd do though.

This series goes right up there with Kevin Hearne's iron druid chronicles and Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.
