About this eBook

“Promise me one thing. Promise me you’ll live.”

Claire Fortune arrives in Boston with an old notebook and her best friend’s dying wish – to finish the scribbled bucket list that Hope didn’t have time to complete. Moment by moment, Claire builds a life she never dreamed of – until Theo walks into the coffee-shop one crisp September afternoon, and her careful plans scatter on the winds.

Sometimes a chance meeting can change a life forever.
Sometimes fate knows exactly what we need.

Perfect for fans of ‘Me Before You’ and ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, New York Times bestselling author Melody Grace brings together two people searching for a love that can overcome tragedy. A heartbreakingly romantic novel that challenges us to live – and love – every day as if it were our last.

This story is told as a recollection. Though I normally don't like this style, in this case it works. If you're not a fan of "A Walk to Remember", "Me Before You" and "The Fault in Our Stars", you probably won't enjoy reading this book either.

I wish there was a better description of the book before I bought it. I don't normally read these "types" of books. I was in tears so many times 😢 The only book of Melody's I didn't care for and I have read every single one! Ugh!!!

Well, dang. I love Melody Grace. I know, when I start one of her books, that it will be full of love, trial, lots of heat, and, ultimately, the proverbial happily ever after. That last part is a given, and it's one of the reasons that I grab and devour everything she writes. And, now, THE PROMISE. Trademark Melody, from the relatable characters to the razor-sharp dialogue, the humor, the gang of friends that rounds out the story. But, oh, goodness, the feels in this one. Truly, I'm still picking up the pieces of my heart, folks, because Melody got me good with this book. I can't remember the last time I cried this much while reading a love story, and I'm sure that I will be suffering with a book hangover for quite some time. I don't want to give away any of the plot, because you truly need to experience this book as it unfolds. Let me just say that THE PROMISE is far different from any book that Melody has written to date, and, while it devastated me, it was a beautiful beautiful part of her that I am happy to have experienced. Love, happiness, despair, loss, they're all here. But what stands out the most, and what will remain, is that love surprises us when we're least expecting it, and that life is a gift not to be squandered, but to be grabbed and lived with abandon, gusto, and joy. 5+ stars for this, one of my favorites of 2016. Grab your copy, and your box of tissues, and dive in to THE PROMISE.
