Agree it was really captivating at times. Found myself thinking about the characters as I went about my day. Also agree the ending left me wanting more - a bit abrupt and a bit predictable. Overall a very good read. Loved the language and writing style.

This was a great read. I love her writing style, humor and pathos combined, set in the south. The characters were very well written, but the ending felt a little off, and I wish Starr's years away from Annie had been explained a bit more, otherwise I would have rated this 5 stars. Will definitely read her next book "Million Dollar Road".

I thought long and hard about this review. It gets 4 stars because up till the last few chapters I couldn't put it down. I loved everything about it. Not wanting to give any of the plot away I'll leave it at that "It's GOOD". But then the last few chapters and ending left me "blah" for lack of a better word. I'm about to start her next book and I am hoping for better closure.

About the author
Amy Connor is a semi-retired horse trainer, and she used to co-own and co-manage the world’s largest alligator farming concern. She lives in New Orleans, but grew up in Jackson, so she knows whereof she speaks. The Right Thing is her first novel.
