Kendall Ryan’s THE ROOM MATE is a heartfelt and alluring read. Paige hasn’t seen her best friend Allie Roth’s geeky little brother, Cannon, in years. When he needs a place to stay, Paige reluctantly obliges. The last thing she expected was that Cannon grew up to be a breathtaking man. He claims that women obsess and fall in love with him after they have sex. She finds it hard to believe and offers to prove him wrong. This contemporary romance takes place in Michigan. It is told from both character’s point of view. It is suitable for new adult and adult audiences. I’m usually not swoony over doctors, but Cannon Roth is definitely swoon-worthy. He is confident and protective. He is caring and thoughtful. He has worked hard to become a doctor. He is a good guy who wants to make sure that he can take care of his mother. I love the reason he wants to become a cardiologist. It’s adorable that he has had a crush on Paige since they were kids. Paige is a sweet heroine. She is attracted to Cannon but torn about betraying her best friend by dating her little brother. She doesn’t have much of a social life. Despite being four years older than Cannon, she is far less experienced. The couple has amazing chemistry. They have known each other for over twenty years. Not only are they attracted to each other, but they are friends. They have several obstacles to overcome in the story; among them, dealing with Allie and a crazy ex-girlfriend. THE ROOM MATE is the first book that I have read by Kendall Ryan. It was attention-grabbing and convincing. I enjoyed her writing style and would read additional books by her in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan is the first book in her brand new Roommates series. Told in dual POV this book starts out as normal as any other - we learn about Cannon and his unlucky history with women and their psychotic tendencies. He is sudden need of a place to stay and his sister hooks him up and convinces her best friend (since childhood) to let him stay at her place for the next two months until his residency begins. We also learn about Paige, how she likes her space but is quickly becoming A-OK with sharing it with Cannon despite how bad this could go for her friendship with Allie. So the lust and attraction builds between these two and they have a couple of racy run-ins in the apartment and it's hot and tension building... And then the story just explodes into another level of awesomeness you don't see coming. Twists and turns and some major dilemmas are now part of the deal and you just won't be able to put this book down until the very LAST page is read. Loved it and I cannot wait to see what is next for us in The Play Mate, The House Mate, and The Soul Mate - the next books in the series. Enjoy!

Cannon, what can I say about this mysterious man? He’s a nearly qualified doctor and is aiming to get a residency but he can’t seem to pinpoint the speciality he wants to do. FYI, when you find out which one it is, if you’re anything like me your heart will melt I promise. I swooned. I love how diverse and different Cannon is, you can’t accuse him of not being different let’s say. He’s come out of a break up with someone who lets say hasn’t quite got all their marbles, but he’s so attracted to Paige. I think the main thing I love is that he doesn’t hide it. He makes it clear that he likes her, I like a man that knows what he wants! He’s cocky, self assured and very confident, for me he’s the ideal man! Paige, she’s not sure about Cannon moving in even if it is on a temporary basis as her room mate. She’s wary of it especially as Cannon is her best friend’s brother, can I just say that just makes it hotter!! Paige and Cannon have chemistry, I can’t say how it works out or if it even does work out but I promise you this, it’s worth the read. This book is a sweet but insanely and intensely hot. It is seductive, it is fun and it has the hallmarks and trademarks of an amazing Kendall Ryan creation. I have always been a big fan of this author’s writing because its fresh, different and each book has its own voice. I can relate to her stories and this story is no different. It boasts love, affection and fighting for what you want. It tells the reader to not give up on what you want, see what you want and grasp the opportunity with both hands. I devoured this book in a few hours which is rare for me these days which again just proves how much I connected and fell in love with this book. The only thing that slightly put me off is the slow burn, I like slow burns but this felt dragged out at points but essentially it is a fun read, and I did enjoy it a lot! Really looking forward to more from this author soon!!
