About this eBook

Welcome to Superiore Bay, Maine, your little slice of heaven on the coast. Come visit us for the best small-town gossip, all the wine you can drink, and wild horses. Once you’re here, you’ll never want to leave.

They’re exes…

…nothing more.

Harper Chapman is running away. From her overbearing parents, and from a husband who broke her heart, a man who also happened to be her boss at one of the most prestigious newspapers in the country.

The job was a dream come true. The husband, not so much.

She just wants to go back to a simpler time when summers at her grandmother’s house could fix anything. But going back means facing things better left in the past.

Small town gossip.

And him. The first boy she ever loved.

Carter Ashford is everything she never wants to remember. Charming, drop-dead gorgeous, and a member of the exclusive Ashford family, practically town royalty. Ten years ago, Harper walked away from Superiore Bay, from him. Now, back in town, she does everything she can to avoid the feelings she’s never gotten over.

When she realizes the local newspaper has turned into a gossip rag, Harper knows she can fix it. She can spend her limited time here reviving something that actually matters, and then move on to the next chapter of her life.

But could her return prove to be more than she can handle? Harper might learn the only thing better than running away is finding a reason to stay.

Come to Superiore Bay for an escape into this heartwarming, small town romance with beautiful sunrises, lovable town-gossips, and a complicated second chance relationship.

The Second Chance is the second book in the Maine Mornings series, a standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA.

Loved this! 💖 Welcome back to Superiore Bay everyone! Harper goes back to her roots after she discovers her husband kissing another woman. Can she find the woman she once used to be, and lost along the way? This book is absolutely brilliant!!! I loved how it's far more than just a romance. Both Harper and Carter learn major things about themselves, and grow quite a bit through the course of the book. We also get to see a few of our favorite unique quirky characters scattered throughout the pages 😉. I also thoroughly enjoy how like in Gilmore Girls... the town is a main character itself within the book. So welcome one and all to Superiore Bay where gossip reigns supreme.

Harper is going back to the place that feels like home to her after the betrayal of her soon to be ex husband! When she looks back on her life and career, she is dad that she allowed her husband to manipulate and change the career she had in store to something she was angry about. Now that she is back in Superiore she has a chance to accomplish something with the newspaper providing she can get her parents off her back. She also has a chance for a second chance to finding happiness with Carter a man that she fell in love with as a young girl. Will everything fall into place for her and will she and Carter get their chance for a happily ever after? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved meeting Harper and getting to know her as well as learning more about Carter and the past he had not only with Harper and Selena, but also what he has really been up to instead of being the rich kid with a flash car. Both Harper and Carter are pushing back against what is expected of them and while Harper thought she knew what she wanted Carter hasn't really thought hard about how he could pursue what he really wants, so while they try and figure out their feelings what they want their futures to be start to come into play as well. You not only get a second chance love story, but also see how those that really support and care for you will be there during tough times as well as push you to be the best you cant. This was a great second book in the series and I can not wait for the next book to see how another Ashford man meets his match at love! About the author

Melissa is a former interior designer living just outside Atlanta Georgia with her sister and a very needy mini Bernedoodle obsessed with belly rubs.

When she’s not writing, she enjoys gardening, swimming, and collecting pretty books for her never ending TBR. (Collecting books and reading them are two separate hobbies and she will die on that hill.) Her favorite pastime is reading in her chaise lounge, snuggling a warm pup, and drinking iced chai (she blames Michelle for this addiction).

Melissa writes fantasy romance, urban fantasy, and Norse mythology. She also writes contemporary romance of all sorts as Ann Maree Craven.

Melissa believes in stories that make you think and she loves twisty plots and playing with foreshadowing, leaving clues and hints for the careful reader. She draws inspiration from her background in architecture and interior design to help her with the small details in world building and scene settings to create a stronger story.

Michelle is just a golden retriever mom living on a family compound in rural Ohio. A simple, sweet life filled with writing days, her pup, and plenty of iced chai tea lattes.

She writes a variety of things including fantasy romance, sweet contemporary romance, spicy romance, and has even dabbled in dystopian. She believes changing things up and taking risks stretches her writing muscles and makes her a better author.

But more than that, writing about various human experiences helps her be a better daughter, a better aunt, a better sister, and a better friend.
