About this eBook

Ancient law dictates that Sheikh Fatim Safar has to marry or be disinherited by his 30th birthday. Fatim isn’t worried—he married years earlier and had two children with his wife before she died. But there’s a catch: the law states he must be married at age 30. Two weeks from his 30th birthday, there’s no time to change it or fight it...it’s more expedient to marry.

Calla Clark is out to prove her parents wrong. Instead of marrying well like her mother wanted, Calla’s in the Middle East to prove her design prowess. And what better way to do that then becoming seamstress for the royal family and getting to drape fabric over the sexy Sheikh’s rock-hard body. She can’t act on her temptations, of course. She’s got goals to crush. Still, when she watches the way the Sheikh commands his tribe, and cares for his kids, she can’t help but feel an undeniable attraction.

Fatim has taken a liking to Calla, too. She’s smart, thoughtful, and good with his children. With his birthday right around the corner, Fatim offers her the position as his wife. It’s only temporary, and in return for marrying him and helping with his children, he’ll give her everything she needs for the upcoming Fashion Week. Calla agrees...so long as he helps keep her dream alive.

With so many differences between them, Fatim and Calla’s powerful pairing could raise the tribe up to modern heights, or send it to the bin like last season’s cast-offs.

This novel contains sexual content and profanity.

Calla Clark is working as a seamstress for the royal family with the ultimate goal of proving her talent to her parents. She would like to enter her designs in the upcoming Fashion Week competition since the notoriety would most likely help her launch her own design business. Sheikh Fatim Safar was a good king and thought he had things covered as far as the ancient law that he has to marry or be disinherited by his 30th birthday. Since he and his now-deceased wife had two children, he met the legal requirements. But he actually didn’t! The wording of the law was that he had to be married “at age 30”, and that would be in two more weeks! Since he was unmarried now, he would have to step down because he had no time to change the law’s wording. Or… he could arrange a marriage of convenience to satisfy the law, and dissolve it later. Fatim asks Calla to take the job to act as his wife for a year to fulfill the legal requirements. If she is willing to marry him and care for his children, he will provide what she needs to compete in the Fashion Week event. Calla, who already had a crush on Fatim, accepts the deal. But falling in love for real was not part of it! What will they do when it’s time to dissolve the “fake” marriage? This author writes wonderful Sheikh stories! The story line is good and fairly believable. The characters are good together and very likable. The reader can see that they would make a good family for real since the children are well cared for and loved. Will they take a chance on each other? Or will they stick to the terms of the agreement?

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in The Safar Sheikhs Series. In this book Calla is the Royal Seamstress and works closely with the King Fatim designing his clothes. Calla is from the US and dreams of having her own fashion line. Calla hopes to debut at the upcoming Fashion Week and one day while with Fatim, the nanny brings his two young children in and is mean to his daughter, causing Fatim to fire her. When Fatim is needed in a meeting, Calla offers to watch the children. Fatim learns he must be married before he turns 30 in order to keep the throne and since his wife had died, he hasn't been interested in anyone. Fatim offers Calla the job as a nanny until he can find a replacement and tells her he will give her the money to create her fashion line. When Fatim realizes he can't get out of being married, he asks Calla to be his wife, and he promises her help with her fashion line and contacts. Calla agrees and soon they settle into a routine. Things are going well until Calla realizes she is in love with Fatim and there is an end date to their marriage. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Calla and how she wanted to help Fatim any way she could. I like how he helped her with her dreams and was supportive of her. Fatim thought he didn't need love to rule, but i think it made him better. Good one to start a new series.

It’s always a wonder how small choices may have big outcomes. The after effects for both of the main characters turns out to be a conclusion neither saw or possibly imagined any better. But being willing to show the depths of your love brings untold joy. Going above the butterflies in your tummy feel to care more for another over your wants and needs is the ultimate sign of love. You will fall in love with Calla and Fatim and the kingdom of Amatbah. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women's contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.

The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren't afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.

Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
