Monday, December 20, 1897. Mr. Benedict Hannan, owner of Hannan’s Auction House in Fitzrovia, London, receives a mysterious letter inviting him to attend a private sale of antiquities belonging to the late Lord Percival Ardmillan. Ardmillan is known to him, or rather, his reprobate son Euan is, and so, Benedict travels to the West Highlands of Scotland with the aim of fulfilling his dream of owning an item from the Ardmillan collection - something that he's coveted for 30 years! In Scotland,Benedict discovers that the auction is not as straightforward as he'd imagined, and neither are the bidding competitors. He finds himself in the thrall of a mysterious traveler, and forced to come to terms with his past and present desires, gets more than he bargained for!

Award-winning author Isobel Starling was born in Germany. After a twenty-year career as an artist in Ireland and Great Britain, she began writing. Isobel writes primarily thriller, mystery and fantasy in the gay romance genre, which have been translated into German, French and Italian.
