Jess is a talented young athlete. When her athletics teacher asks her to be a bridesmaid at their wedding, she jumps at the chance! But this is a wedding with a difference – the bride and groom are to run in a marathon and Jess has to run part of the way with them! But when a traffic jam threatens to stop her getting to the reception, she puts on her trainers again and jogs all the way there!

Diane Redmond is a prolific author, television scriptwriter and playwright. Among her first children’s books were Fireman Sam titles for Heinemann.She has written several plays for the Polka Theatre Company; the young football series Come on You Reds! for Transworld, Young Corgi; Animal Sanctuary for MacDonald; Stage School for Hodder. Her latest commission from Random House is to write four picture book texts for the new animated film of Watership Down. She lives in Cambridge with her family and two dogs.
