About this ebook

'The Unmumsy Mum is hilarious. She says all the things we're scared to share - I love her!' Giovanna Fletcher
'Hilarious, irreverent and searingly candid.' Bella magazine

THIS IS NOT A PARENTING MANUAL. THIS IS REAL LIFE.

The Unmumsy Mum writes candidly about motherhood like it really is: the messy, maddening, hilarious reality, how there is no 'one size fits all' approach and how it is sometimes absolutely fine to not know what you are doing.

The lessons she's learnt while grappling with two small boys - from birth to teething, 3am night feeds to toddler tantrums, soft play to toilet training - will have you roaring with laughter and taking great comfort in the fact that it's definitely not just you...

From the mum of a threenager who declares hourly what a big boy he is while simultaneously refusing to potty train this book offered some reassurance that I was not alone in the challenges motherhood presented me with and though i think its hard it helped me realise feeling that way did not make me a failure while also getting me a few funny looks as I giggled out loud when reading it on the bus to work!!

Excellent, honest well-written account of parenting. Sarah has managed to say aloud almost all those words and thoughts that have swirled around in my head for the last 8 years. It has made me smile, laugh, cry, nod along throughout.

About the author

Sarah Turner lives in Devon with her husband and their three boys. She started writing as The Unmumsy Mum after becoming disillusioned with the other parenting literature she had read online. Everybody seemed to be coping so well! Where were the tales of mums tearing their hair out after yet another sleepless night and endless re-runs of Peppa Pig? Surely there were others out there who were trying but ultimately failing to live up to the Supermum ideal they'd bought into? She made a vow then and there to document the good, the bad and the ugly of parenting and her blog (www.theunmumsymum.co.uk) was born. The Unmumsy Mum was voted number 4 in Amazon's Top 10 books of 2016 (as voted by Amazon customers) and was also shortlisted for Book of the Year (non fiction, lifestyle) at the 2017 British Book Awards. You can follow Sarah's everyday parenting adventures on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (@theunmumsymum).
