Andrea Romance
Emma is investigating the disappearance of several young women from the home of an aristocrat. The prime suspect is the cousin of Samuel, Lord Lymington. Emma poses as a noblewoman in her first season, attracting Samuel's interest. As the two become more entwined in each other's lives, the secrets that first drew them together threaten to tear them apart. With danger closing in, can they learn to trust and keep each other safe? I've read about 500 books over the past year, and this series is easily my favorite historical romance series. I saved up this book to read on my birthday as a gift to myself. Like the others in the series, LORD LYMINGTON can be read as a standalone, but you may as well start at the beginning and read them all. Emma is strong, smart, charming, clever, and resourceful. Samuel is the one man who can see beyond her façade to the heart of the woman beneath. She fascinates him, but he knows there's more to her story than she's showing. It's clear from the beginning that these two are a worthy pair, but circumstances give them reason to distrust each other. They're both keeping secrets and harboring deep wounds from the past. Yet the passion between them is undeniable. The suspense plot is full of twists and kept me guessing. The intrigue didn't overwhelm the romance but complemented it. The fact that I dislike romantic suspense in general but loved this series says a lot about Anna Bradley's deft character development and vibrant writing style. She left the door open for another book in the series, and I'm hoping there will be more. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Emma Downing, masquerading as Lady Emma Crosby, is investigating the disappearance or several housemaids from the country estate if the Lymington family. Samuel Fitzroy, Marquess of Lymington, is in London to help his cousin win back the love of his life, and to investigate the disappearances that occurred at his country home. Sparks fly from the moment these two meet. The interest and attraction are there, but they don’t trust each other. Emma has a frightening past that she hides. She was rescued from a brothel by Lady Clifford when she was fifteen. Simon is a retired Navy Captain, just returned to England. He is gruff, suspicious, blunt. The road to this happily ever after will be quite difficult. The mystery, who has taken the girls, is a page turner. The answer comes very near the end of the story. Emma and Simon have a volatile, but engaging story. It is a fitting end the series. The epilogue wraps everything up nicely. It’s fun and a bit emotional (you might need a tissue). A great read and a great series. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary

In the 4th installment of this series, it is Emma's turn to step up to a challenge. She had endured so much in her young life but was saved from the streets. She is set to the task to find out what has been happening to the disappearance of maids from an estate. Disguising herself, she soon comes into contact with the Lord of the manner. Samuel has just returned home and finds the home in chaos. When he comes into contact with Emma, he realizes she is not all she seems. Suspense, intrigue and of course a building romance keeps this story moving until the end!
