Service to the Lord or Christian service begins in God and finds its place in God's eternal purpose. It is to be accomplished in the power of the Holy Spirit by men whom God has called to His work. 

Christian service is to be done according to God's methods and in God's time. Thus defined, the work of God becomes a very serious responsibility. You don't carry out God's work just when you feel like and the way you want, but as He determines.
