About this ebook

From “queen of royal fiction” (USA TODAY) Philippa Gregory comes this instant New York Times bestseller that tells the story of the remarkable Elizabeth of York, daughter of the White Queen, and mother to the House of Tudor.

When Henry Tudor picks up the crown of England from the mud of Bosworth field, he knows he must marry the princess of the enemy house—Elizabeth of York—to unify a country divided by war for nearly two decades.

But his bride is still in love with his slain enemy, Richard III—and her mother and half of England dream of a missing heir, sent into the unknown by the White Queen. While the new monarchy can win power, it cannot win hearts in an England that plots for the triumphant return of the House of York.

Henry’s greatest fear is that somewhere a prince is waiting to invade and reclaim the throne. When a young man who would be king leads his army and invades England, Elizabeth has to choose between the new husband she is coming to love and the boy who claims to be her beloved lost brother: the rose of York come home at last.

I had some trouble with the book in the beginning and had to read it on another device for a few days, but then it opened on the lap like I wanted and I was able to finish it. I enjoyed it very much. I seem to be a little addicted to this author right now. this is the fourth book in as many weeks. and I'm going back for more!! I really enjoy the depth that she gives the characters it's a very fun and interesting way to learn of the history of the middle ages. Definitely worth reading

I love the way Ms Gregory takes real events and real people and makes a wonderful and dramatic story from these events. She is the Alison Weir of fiction. If you love history, fiction and drama you will love this book and all her others. I have a degree in history and I am very passionate about accurate history and her books satisfy my requirements. Also, I love how her story is always from the perspective of women, who were forgotten about during this point in history.

I enjoyed The White Queen more. The characters were well thought out, but Henry VII paranoia and verbal abuse of his wife started taking the joy out of reading the book for me.
