In the heart of a forgotten village, where the mist hung heavy and the moonlight barely pierced the thick canopy of ancient trees, there existed a legend. It was said that at the stroke of the Wicked Hour, a time when the night was at its darkest and the barrier between worlds grew thin, unspeakable horrors walked the land. This is the tale of a night when the legend became a terrifying reality for a group of friends: Ethan, Mia, Alex, and Debra.

The night was unusually still as Ethan and his friends gathered around the flickering campfire, their laughter and chatter a stark contrast to the eerie silence of the forest around them.

"Have you guys heard of the Wicked Hour?" Ethan asked, his voice dropping to a whisper.

Mia rolled her eyes. "Don't start with your spooky stories again, Ethan. We're not kids."

"No, listen," Ethan insisted. "They say that at exactly 3 AM, the veil between our world and the next is at its weakest. Spirits, demons, all sorts of creatures can slip through."

Alex chuckled. "Sounds like a load of nonsense."

Debra, however, shivered. "What if it's true?"

"It's just a legend," Ethan reassured her, though a part of him wondered.
