Mohamed Abou El-khir is a professor at Academy Of Arts, Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Egypt, a director and writer. He got his PhD from Leeds Metropolitan University, England. He worked as Under Secretary & Consultant for 8 years at Ministry of Youth and for nearly 2 years as First Under Secretary for Cultural Production Sector at Ministry of Culture, Egypt. He directed & supervised more than 50 plays locally & internationally, published & reviewed more than 30 books and participated in several local & international conferences, seminars & festivals. He is the head of the Scientific Committee for the promotion of professors, Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, Academy of Arts, 2014 until now. He also supervised and discussed more than 40 MAs & PhDs in several Egyptian universities.
He is an active member of the Egyptian Writers Union and the Arab Theatre Institute, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He participated as a member in Supreme Council of Culture, the “Youth Committee” in Bibliotheca Alexandrina and “Intangible Cultural Heritage Board” of UNESCO. He was honored with several awards among which are: a recognition medal from the Drama House, Ministry of Culture in 2014, the Distinguished Manager Award from Ministry of Administrative Development in 2006, a medal from the Arab Children Theatre Festival, Jordan in 2000 and the Honored State Incentive Award, Ministry of Culture, Egypt in 1999.
