What did she see?

It’s been ten months since Anna Fox last left her home. Ten months during which she has haunted the rooms of her old New York house, lost in her memories, too terrified to step outside.

Anna’s lifeline to the real world is her window, where she sits, watching her neighbours. When the Russells move in, Anna is instantly drawn to them. A picture-perfect family, they are an echo of the life that was once hers.

But one evening, a scream rips across the silence, and Anna witnesses something horrifying. Now she must uncover the truth about what really happened. But if she does, will anyone believe her? And can she even trust herself?

I'm sorry if I have insulted the author, but I did not like this book. To me, the style was desperately attempting to be artistic, but turned out confusing and annoying. I also couldn't relate to the protagonist, who was apparently struggling with mental health issues, but was depicted as irritating instead. I gave up before the halfway point as the text was deemed to be rambling. I will not be recommending this book to my friends.

Suspenseful. Anna Fox is agorophobic and spends her days watching the world through her camera lens. And drinking. So when she sees a neighbour stabbed she's not sober and police don't believe her. They find the woman alive and well and they see Anna as a nuisance. I didn't see the twist coming. A brilliant debut novel.

This book kept me captivated on the protagonist. She is struggling with a lot of things mentally and she witnessed something unreal. When I say I didn't expected a twist about her...about her perception of everything. I love it. Left me a gape!
