Pia’s latest pregnancy has become a daily challenge, her relationship with Dragos strained with argument. That hasn’t stopped them from achieving a compromise and traveling to Las Vegas to celebrate their friend Rune’s wedding to his mate Carling.

From the moment they arrive, the trip goes awry. Death walks in Vegas, and Pia is kidnapped as an ancient enemy makes a move to destroy the Great Beast once and for all.

But the Great Beast has other plans.

On Planet Dragos everything goes the way he arranges it—unless someone decides to cross him, and God help them then, because he doesn’t know how to back down, and he doesn’t ever, ever let up….

It’s been a couple years or so since the last story set in the North American Elder Race Territories and Dracos/Pia’s immediate sphere, but this story seems to pick up not long after that. I found it a little slow going getting into this new story, due in part to the time away and in part hating to see a happy couple having to fight their way back to that (even knowing that this will be the last Pia/Drogos centric story so they should be quite HEA after this). Someone or something always seems to be trying to wreck their lives and tear their family/world apart (and we know since we’ve been along to watch and cheer them on to victory each time). Once again, what should be a short & simple vacation trip turns out to go all wrong. Once it got started the story was interesting and I like where it ended up and the decisions that the couple made at the end of the book. While the story suffers the issues of most novellas (story/plot depth, character development, timing) due to the word count limitations, I’m not sure all those issues would have been truly resolved by making the story longer. It was nice to see Dragos working with Rune again and for him to make another “growth” step in his relations with those he’s close to as well as glimpses of some other past key characters in the Wyr. Over all it was an interesting story and the possibilities due to Pia & Dragos’ decision impact on the rest of the Wyr nation and elder races makes for a nice ending (and future). "You are the center around which everything else revolves, always.” We all have them: books by authors we know we'll have a great time with. For me, Thea Harrison is one of those. I remember when I first read Dragon Bound by her - I was on the beach in Italy (a word of advice - don't do that, that book is HOT). Ever since I've been trying to find a series about shapeshifters that are as good as Thea's...only a few are (ie. Nalini Singh's). The Elder Races world will always have a special place in my heart. Now let's talk about Planet Dragos - this is the last of Dragos and Pia's POV stories and I'm a little sad to let them go but I understand that at some point all stories have been told and Ms. Harrison has my full respect for recognizing and acknowledging this. On their last adventure Pia and Dragos have to deal with an old enemy, an enemy who wants to destroy Dragos and knows the best way to get to him is through the dragon's beloved and REALLY pregnant mate. This pregnancy has taken a toll on her and in typical male manner Dragos doesn't miss a chance to put his foot in his mouth. He isn't cruel though, not with Pia who he loves with the fire of a thousand suns. Lately something has been on his mind, something that will change the future of the whole New York demesne. He is preoccupied and doesn't even realize how his words and actions hurt his mate. When Pia is being kidnapped it's a wake-up call for him and he will burn down the world to get her back. Dragos is larger than life - he has come a long way though. The dragon we met in the first book is still there, arrogant, dominating, demanding, charismatic and complicated but Pia has smoothed the edges and has made him almost human - there is a tenderness about him now that is enthralling. What I find fascinating, even after so many books, is that I really feel that Dragos is ancient. Thea Harrison made his character believable. Pia has always been one of my favorite female characters - she has the heart of a warrior and a softness that is sweet and endearing. Her snark, however, is one of my most favorite things about her. But she's also real - her insecurities, living with such an old, powerful and sexual creature and I can only imagine how hard it is to step out of the shadow he casts. Pia does it though, she's always been special in her own right. A new character is being introduced in Planet Dragos and I have a hunch that we'll see more of him in future books. We also get a little bit of Liam who isn't the peanut any longer. I know the author said she wouldn't write a college series about Liam but it feels like she made a distinction here - maybe we will see a completely grown up Liam fighting for his own mate at some point? I definitely hope so! This novella is a lovely and solid conclusion to Pia and Dragos's storyline. I'm sure we'll hear of them and see them as cameos in other books but it's really hard to send them off into their HEA. Planet Dragos has everything I love about this series - most of the sentinels, especially Rune and Carling and a snarky Aryal, action and Dragos' and Pia's love. Thea Harrison has announced three more stories in the New York demesne and now I'm really curious who these will be about!

Planet Dragos is another delightful read in this fabulous series. Dragos and Mia are going through an unsettling time with the forthcoming arrival of the new baby. Mia's pregnancy isn't as easy as it was the first time round and this is causing discord as Dragos is worried and wants to speed things up, whereas Mia wants to stick to what she believes is for the best. They go to Vegas to attend a wedding where things take an unexpected and dangerous turn. Dragos is frantic and his protective side makes him lethal. The enemy thinks that she has the upper hand, but this is Dragos we are dealing with here! The Wyrs come together as they always do to protect and save their own. A bloody battle follows and Dragos isn't about to be intimidated. Mia's strength and courage shine once again when she is caught in a dire situation. This is an enticing Novella where love, determination and loyalty shine. The new addition to the family is an emotional event and Dragos and Mia couldn't be happier. Changes are afoot and it looks like Liam might have to make a tough decision. Azreal's appearance is enlightening! The love between Dragos and Mia gets stronger with each book and I hope that there are glimpses of them in future installments. A great addition to the series. I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
