Thornbear

So far the story is good but I am disappointed that this title is not available as a family group title. I would easily score this much better if it were.

probably my favorite book from Michael G Manning. It's a book that makes you wanna see more of Gram because he's a very well written character, and the introduction of Chad makes a rather interesting book. It's also a great place to start if you haven't read any of the other books. However if you have read the books be prepared for pain because Gram, and the rest of the Thornbears go through a lot of turmoil in this book that isn't gone over in the main series.

This book had me hooked from the moment I picked it up, I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing in a day. The world and especially the magic were both nuanced and intriguing. Much like Steven Erikson, Manning has a way of feeding you bits and pieces of the world and character's histories in a way that leaves you yearning for more. This is the first book of Manning's that I have bought, but I plan to start reading the rest, highly recommend fellow fantasy lovers check it out.
