This 1872 sequel to Lewis Carroll's beloved Alice's Adventures in Wonderland finds the inquisitive heroine in a fantastic land where everything is reversed. Promised a crown when she reaches the eighth square, Alice perseveres through a surreal landscape of characters who pelt her with riddles as well as humorous semantic quibbles, and regale her with memorable poetry, including the oft-quoted "Jabberwocky." This handsome and inexpensive edition of the childhood classic features the original illustrations by Sir John Tenniel.

Lewis Carroll (1832–98) was the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, are rich repositories of his sparkling gifts for wordplay, logic, and fantasy.
