This book is gorgeous. Not only does it implore the topic of death and sacrifice thoroughly, it touches on the idea of what makes us human and what humankind becomes of in a world without death-- the world without ultimate fate. Thunderhead, in my personal opinion, was great. It was fun getting to know about Greyson Tolliver, a new character introduced to the story arc who will presumably play a big role in the third book, and I was intrigued to see Scythe Anastasia develop over the period of 500 pages. I have to admit, I enjoyed the first book a bit better than the second, but that doesn't make the second book any worse than the first. I would definitely recommend anybody who is capable of understanding these concepts to try and read this book as well as the first-- it will leave you with a meaningful ache in your heart that makes you long for more.
