Het dodenmeer is een mythisch album uit de Frans-Belgische stripgeschiedenis. In 1957 verscheen voor het eerst bij uitgeverij Dupuis, in 1958 volgde de Nederlandse vertaling. Het werd voor het laatst heruitgegeven in 1978 in Dupuis' collectie Jeugdzonden. Het album bevat ook de eerste acht platen van Les camions du diable, die zonder verder vervolg bleven en nu voor het eerst in het Nederlands verschijnen. Maurice Tillieux (1921-1978) was de man achter Guus Slim, Baard en Kale en vele andere stripklassiekers. Weinig bekend is dat hij als scenarist ook mee aan de wieg stond van reeksen als Yoko Tsuno en Natasja. In deze Paul Panter zit alles wat Tillieux zo groot maakte: een machtige sfeerzetting, humoristische enscenering en gelaagde personages.
