I read this book and the second book and decided that it was going to be a DNF series for me. I was super invested in the world that had been built and the overall plot had me intrigued however, I felt that the dialog was lacking. Conversation progression and reaponses at times didn't flow or seem natural and the intimate scenes just read as kind of silly. Overall this series has an awesome idea, I just think it could have been executed better with more internal dialog, better conversation flow and better written spice.

I love this book so much! It's fun and interesting! It transports you and, once you start reading, you're hooked to the end. I found myself immediately loving Xandrie, and I laughed out loud more than a few times. Truly a great read! I love the work of May Sage, and this story (and it's series) is no exception!
