New Horizons was designed by NASA to study Pluto and the fringes of our solar system, farther away than any spacecraft has ever explored. Join science writer Elaine Scott as she tells the story of this mission.

Elaine Scott is the author of many nonfiction books for children, including Space, Stars, and the Beginning of Time (2011), an ALA Notable Children's Book, and Poles Apart (2004), a CBC-NCSS Notable Social Studies Trade Book. She was just inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters. She lives in Houston, Texas.
