While I cannot speak to the book itself, as I have yet to read it, the included EPUB available has such a rigid and practically unreadable default stylesheet that it required nearly a half-hour of applying a custom stylesheet just to be able to make it readable on my Nexus 7 (aside from stripping out the stylesheet entirely, which made it no better than a plain text file). Each level of the stylesheet applies its own overrides, so even if you want to change one global style, you wind up having to change each and every specific style individually. Clearly more thought was given to mimicking a paper format as closely as possible than to making it actually useful on modern paperless technology.

Boringly painful. I have read most of this series. But this is the worst book I have ever read. Far too many sub plots that leaves the reader completely bewildered. over 600 pages of page fillers. This book was definitely not riveting and after 200 + pages, I gave up. Less would have been more.

The author intertwines several different stories so there is never a dull moment. Great characters, loads of action, the best story I've ever read.

About the author

A little more than thirty years ago Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history. Years before, he had been an English major at Baltimore’s Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red October—the first of the phenomenally successful Jack Ryan novels—sold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it “the perfect yarn.” From that day forward, Clancy established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense. He passed away in October 2013.
