This book is great for teaching my students how to use their communication device when they want or need different articles of clothing. We read the book together as they use their device to express the clothing they need to dress their paper doll along with Tommy. The students are now excited about knowing how to asking for accessories such as hats, sunglasses and even their mask on their AAC device. I look forward to using other I-Tot Books while preparing speech classes in the future.

My student absolutely loves this book 😊 he's always pointing at the pictures and saying the words he learnt in the book. The rhyming and pictures are all lovely, the ending especially is very cute and makes the kids laugh every time.

About the author

I-Tots Books is a series of eBooks especially designed for little ones beginning their reading journey and those learning English as a second language.

• I-Tots books are all written in rhyme so kids can learn ‘word families’ (like dog & log) which has been proven to speed up the learning process.

• I-Tots books all have a ‘New Words’ section at the back of the book which helps children review any new words they have learnt and find them again in the pictures!

• I-Tots Books are written thematically to help children focus on new topics and explore it as far as their imagination allows.

• I-Tots Books all come with a free worksheet to enhance that reading experience. (Head over to our website and leave your email – the worksheet will be sent straight to your inbox!)

Born in the south of the UK, I was raised reading books that were fun to read and had a unique style of writing. My favourite books were often written in a poetry style and had a sense of humour.

After moving to Hong Kong with my family at a young age, I also experienced schooling with that famous Hong Kong strict education style. Learning Cantonese, Mandarin and Indonesian helped me see what challenges there are in learning a language. Along with seeing my Chinese classmates having trouble learning English and later becoming an English teacher myself, I came to see that when learning comes across as boring, children (and adults) progress a lot slower.

I wanted to design a book series that children could enjoy and have fun with - hence the poetry - but also learn, even subconsciously. I also wanted the books to be easy to follow along with for parents who may also be learning English and want to help their children at home.

With over 10 years experience in teaching Hong Kong students, and designing a 3-level phonics course, I have found that for children to progress and learn, they need books like these - fun, educational and perfect for parent-child time.
