A very different sort of psychological thriller with a group of mentally disturbed Marshalls forming a team to track down & stop serial killers. There's nothing like a group of sociopaths/psychopaths/personality disorders to have the insight to bring down one of their own. The story was well written & fast paced, although I found the ending a little rushed. I'm certainly looking forward to reading the next book in the series & highly recommend this book if you are looking for something a little "darker".

I am a history fanatic and enjoyed the vlad tepes reference right from the off! The psychology and the sociology in the book was wonderful and made for an intelligent and entertaining book. I would be careful for the the repetitive nature Cain seems to have when discussing torture devices and also perhaps too much explanations of very straight forward things. The characters are wonderful and rich and I enjoy that they too each have a back story that develops as the book unfolds! Most certainly a favourite
