About this ebook

Adele learns just how ruthless German agents can be.

In Edwardian England, Lady Adelaide Azalea Margaret de Morville, Mrs. Hugh Becket, continues her work for William Melville, spymaster, even though it has left her with no time to live the life she would prefer, which includes spending at least a little time with Daniel Bannister.

When she refuses to travel to Germany to watch over King Edward while he visits the German Emperor to discuss disarmament of their increasingly more competitive navies, Melville gives Adele an alternative, superficial task of watching over a young, sweet debutante, Lady Winnifred.

Adele perseveres with the useless, quite horrid task of trailing an innocent girl through the Season. It puts her in the path of German agents, who demonstrate just how dark and dangerous her new work really is…

This novelette is the second in the Adelaide Becket Edwardian espionage series.

1: The Requisite Courage

2: The Rosewater Debutante

…and more to come.

A historical suspense espionage novelette.

Praise for the Adelaide Becket series:

Tracy takes you again back in time to an era you could only imagine about but brings it in vivid color through her story

A delightful game of cat and mouse

I thoroughly enjoyed this magnificent first in series book!!

The writing style is easy to read and the plot COMPLETELY unpredictable!!

It was a marvelous escape from reality

Breathtaking start to a fantastic new series by Tracy Cooper-Posey.

Succinct and yet rich in the details that create historical immersion and scenes I found easy to imagine being a part.

I loooove good quality writing and I love a new series like a junkie. Just give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

This second book of the series has plenty of who, what, and why from our heroine, whose new to the dangerous world of spies. She tells the boss " No" she does not want to work on the next assignment, but I'm sure you can guess how that went. She's to carefully follow and watch a young debutante when all she wants to do the work of a real spy. The mounting pressure between America and Germany is the perfect scenario and time for her to show her boss that she, a woman, is up to the task in this man's world of dangerous secrets and skullduggery. The boss knows what he's doing when he tells her she has to do the assignment given. With her open mind, superb listening, and speedy deduction abilities she nabs the prize. What exactly is that you ask, well you'll just have to read it yourself to find out.

A fascinating character and exciting story! What an addictive character to follow! I have been captivated by Adele's ongoing adventures in her-story! I thoroughly enjoyed following Adele's unpredictable and suspenseful adjustment to life as a secret agent. Lady Adele is cheeky, daring, courageous and a character worthy of following in this delightful series. The male characters were beautifully used as foils to further highlight to me Adele's strength of character and her heretofore undiscovered skills and talents. Wow! In this novella Tracy Cooper-Posey shows her flair and talent for writing a detailed historically-set story whilst using a skilled and succinct style that means every word counts! I loved the brief recap of the story so far, included at the beginning, but I highly recommend reading the previous book, Requisite Courage, as a delightful introduction to the series.
