Peggy Dymond Leavey was born in Toronto, the second in a family of five children. She began writing as a child and has since published poems, novels, articles, and plays for both adults and children. Her first novel for children, Help Wanted: Wednesdays Only, was published in 1994 by Napoleon. Peggy's first teen novel, Finding My Own Way, was published by Napoleon in the fall of 2001. Other award-winning novels were Sky Lake Summer, The Deep End Gang and The Path through the Trees. The first novel to feature Joel Osler, Treasure at Turtle Lake, was released in 2007, and is followed by this sequel, Trouble at Turtle Narrows, in the fall of 2008. Peggy lives in Ontario, where she and her husband have three grown children and eight grandchildren. She has recently retired as a public librarian and looks forward to more time for writing.
