About this eBook

Now a major motion picture streaming on Netflix!

The first installment of Scott Westerfeld’s New York Times bestselling and award-winning Uglies series—a global phenomenon that started the dystopian trend.

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can’t wait. In just a few weeks she’ll have the operation that will turn her from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty. And as a pretty, she’ll be catapulted into a high-tech paradise where her only job is to have fun.

But Tally’s new friend Shay isn’t sure she wants to become a pretty. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world—and it isn’t very pretty. The authorities offer Tally a choice: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. Tally’s choice will change her world forever.

Where to start? Immediately, this book had me hooked. The description, the action, the heartfelt story. Everything about this book is spot on. Tally Youngblood is an amazing character from the start. The real life scenarios bring this tale to life. I absolutely love how the author is able to get you attached to a character, and kill them off smoothly, and without the long drag that seems to take the story over. Definitely going to get the next book. The message this boon portrays is so spectacular. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE UGLIES!

The characters in Uglies are complex and relatable. Tally's journey from a naive and eager-to-please teenager to a rebellious and independent young woman is both inspiring and heartbreaking. The supporting characters, like Shay and Peris, add depth and dimension to the story

I love it. It's amazing 🤩😍 I love how tally is all like "I want to turn" and "I don't want to go to the smoke then I'll be ugly forever" then she goes to the smoke falls in love with the place and David helps her realize that there is some thing wrong with the operation and that she is perfect the way she is. But eventually she goes back and turns to try the cure
