Edward Snow's selection of more than one hundred of Rainer Maria Rilke's little-known and neglected poems in this bilingual edition offers the reader a glimpse into one of the most powerful and underrated accomplishments in all of modern poetry. Edward Snow has translated Rilke's The Book of Images and the two volumes of Rilke's New Poems, for which he won the Harold Morton Landon Translation Award given by the Academy of American Poets. He is also the author of Inside Bruegel and the acclaimed A Study of Vermeer. He is a professor of English at Rice University.
