Unsung Hero by Barbara Ankrum Band of Brothers #1 This second chance at love romance tells the story of Antonio “Nio” Reyes and Becca Howard. It is also a rags to riches feel good story with one toppling from the heights and the other working his way up to the wealthy lifestyle he aspired to. The story was perhaps predictable but definitely left me feeling good about the two managing to finally achieve their HEA together, NOTE: I had the feeling more than once that there might be a prequel to this book as the “brothers” that Nio helped out (Navy SEALs in his brother’s SEAL team) are all mentioned and there is a back story for them that is not detailed OR there is another series this spins off from OR...something. Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars

This second chance read had me from hello. I had read all about Trey, Nio Reyes's brother in past books and know all about the Band of Brothers so I have been all ready to find out about Nio's history and what made him tick. And oh does our author, Barbara Ankrum give us a really who done it style book by way of giving us the readers the answers. I have to say this is my my favorite book from this author so far. It had me searching for answers and while I thought I knew where things were going, I was not quite right in the direction at all. Bravo to keeping me guessing. What a great second chance romance with a touch of mystery. And oh yes we get a mention or two about my favorite town Marietta too. So extra good!

Loved, loved this second chance romance between Nio and Becca. Nio and Becca were high school sweethearts, "living on the opposite sides of the track", when Nio all of a suddenly left. Fast forward ten years later and Nio has returned home to Laguna Beach to win back Becca. Nio has done well with his endeavors where Becca has not. Scandal has ruined her wealthy family and her boyfriend has broken up with her. Loved Nio, such a fierce hero and always puts family and his brother's Navy Seals first. Soon the truth will come out why Nio left but will it be to late for Becca. This was a book that I could not put down, will anxiously be waiting for the next book in the series.
