About this eBook

Amy Plum, internationally bestselling author of the Die for Me series, delivers a heart-pounding adventure perfect for fans of Michael Grant, Veronica Rossi, and Alexandra Bracken. Until the Beginning is the sequel to After the End, which Marie Lu, New York Times bestselling author of the Legend series and the Young Elites series, called “wonderfully riveting.” In this stunning and exhilarating conclusion to the duology, Juneau has been searching for her people and for answers . . . and she is about to find both.

When Juneau’s clan disappeared, she lost so much more than her friends and family. She soon discovered everything she thought she knew about her life was a lie. Her people’s gifts were actually secret abilities that others wanted, desperately enough to kidnap an entire village.

Juneau set off on a cross-country journey with her new companion, Miles, to find her clan, which led them to a game preserve in New Mexico. Now Juneau’s people are finally within reach, and she will stop at nothing to save them. But she has a target on her back too, because unbeknownst to her she is the key to unlocking everything. To rescue her people—and herself—Juneau must discover what she and her abilities are truly capable of.

This sequel was definitely better than the first, with a more coherent plot, and more focus given to characterization. At the end of After the End, Juneau had administered the Rite to Miles, making him essentially immortal, and this book his characterization as well as the plot delves into what it means, where belief and science intersect to the magic of the Yara. Meanwhile, his and Juneau's relationship is gaining a solid ground, with them being more open towards one another and working towards the common goal of freeing her family from a compound in Texas. There were certain aspects of this which would be too spoiler-y to discuss, so let's just say that Juneau's wit and Miles' planning work well to help free them, while also work on what they want for their futures. I also liked how the generational cap of her people as well as the wedge driven in from their lies was played out realistically, without shoving it under the rug in the name of a happier ending. In all, it is a good sequel and a well-done finale.

When I saw the first book, I wasn't so sure. I always read the back and that's what caught my attention. So once I finished it I wanted to find the second one so bad. Im crying inside because I just finished and I know there won't be a third. If anyone like romance, adventure, magic and suspense I highly recommend this book. It will have u on the edge of your seat.
