Another innovation is popular science writing. Taking a cue from an extremely popular series of short radio plays science underlying different current events are explained in these short skits. The banter between a couple and their friend with a scientific bent make these plays very lively. The reader easily identifies himself with the otherwise well-read couple, giving the impression that the plays are being enacted in one’s drawing room.
विज्ञान म्हणजे दूर कोट्यवधी कोस दूर अंतराळात असलेल्या ग्रहगोलांवर घडणाऱ्या घटनांचं क्लिष्ट विश्लेषण किंवा शक्तीमान सूक्ष्मदर्शकांची मदत मिळूनही न दिसणाऱ्या अणुरेणूंच्या अंतरंगात उठणाऱ्या तरंगांची तेवढीच किचकट चिकित्सा असं न राहता आपल्या रोजच्या आयुष्यातल्या अनेक पैलूंवर प्रभाव टाकणारे आणि तरीही अनाकलनीय वाटणारे अनेक प्रवाह असंच झालं.विज्ञानानं जसं आपलं रुप बदललं, दैनंदिन जीवनाच्या अनेक अंगांना त्याचा जसा स्पर्श होऊ लागला, तसं त्याची ओळख करून देण्याच्या प्रयत्नांनीही आपलं ठोकळेबाज स्वरुप बदललं. एखाद्या तात्यापंतोजींनी दिलेला रुक्ष भाषेतला आदेश असं त्याचं स्वरुप न राहता चहाच्या कपाभोवती किंवा पोह्यांच्या बशीभोवती केल्या गेलेल्या शिळोप्याच्या गप्पांचं रुपडं त्यानं धारण केलं आहे. त्याचंच प्रतिबिंब या पुस्तकामध्ये पडलेलं सापडेल.
