About the author

After obtaining his Ph.D. in Physics from the IIT-Madras, Dr. V.V. Rao joined the faculty at IIT-Kharagpur. Since then, he has been teaching vacuum technology both at the UG and PG levels. Dr. T.B. Gosh obtained his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the IIT-Kharagpur. Since 1987, he has been a faculty member of the Physics department of IIT, Kharagpur. Dr. K.L. Chopra was the Director of IIT-Kharagpur. He received his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
