Not everyone take the time to describe a so much complex scientific work in a simple word. I did not know at first what exactly this book will propose. But first thing I knew, not at all what I thought it would be and impossible to stop reading. So much to learn about our body and its functionalities. He has a real gift like an artist to show all that stuff like a painting in your head. You can see all the specialized teams at work in each fields and, like every system, we can watch the consequences that made us what we are right now in today's world. It was fun for me to discovering all that little world, learning a lot and wish to make better with it.

About the author

Venki Ramakrishnan shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for uncovering the structure of the ribosome. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, Venki runs the Ramakrishnan Lab at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, England. From 2015 to 2020, he served as president of the Royal Society, one of the world's oldest scientific organizations. He is the author of the frank scientific memoir Gene Machine.
