I loved this book! I'm a big fan of Veronica Henry and especially the books set in Everdene around the beach huts, this being one of them. This time the main story is about Robyn and Jake, who have a landscaping business together and started off as friends, then became more. Now Robyn is expecting and a wedding is being planned. But the family surrounding them each have their own issues to work through. Robyn is adopted and feels it is the time to see if she can find her birth mother, but doesn't want to upset her parents. Her parents are going through money struggles with Hawksworthy Farm, the farm that has been in the family for generations and Robyn has grown up on, but her father especially is trying to sort things out but keeping it a secret. Jake's father, Rocky, is starting to date again after splitting from his wife and Jake's mother years ago, but the dating scene has changed so much in the meantime! Then we also have part of the story from Robyn's birth mother, learning the story behind Robyn's adoption, and the story flips back and forth between timelines which really added to the story. And all this is set around the beautiful sounding Everdene. Fabulous characters, a beach hut, and a wedding on the beach, what's not to like! A really lovely read.
