This confuses vacuum with the philosophical and biblical emptiness. As a vacuum has no mass but has energy it is not surprising that it's possible to. create mass from energy. The logic argument doesn't really help, things either have a begining or not. I agree that time may have a begining or beginnings, the universe and its contents should be considered as separate.
