ELIJAH’S WHIM by Victoria Blue is the seventh instalment in the contemporary, adult SHARK’S EDGE erotic, romantic suspense series, and the first instalment in Hannah and Elijah’s story . This is caterer/chef Hannah Farley, and billionaire businessman / security specialist Elijah Banks’ story line. ELIJAH’S WHIM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and history. Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Elijah) ELIJAH’S WHIM picks up several months after the events of Grant’s Blaze (Shark’s Edge 6). Elijah Banks is the third member of a business triangle co-owned with Grant Twombley and Sebastian Shark. With the partners, and their significant others and friends, targeted by any number of desperate individuals, Elijah Banks has set into motion a plan to protect our story line heroine and her family but Elijah’s past refuses to let go, and Hannah’s past may be coming for vengeance. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hannah and Elijah, and the potential fall-out as every measure of protection and safety Elijah put into place, has been over ridden or destroyed by demons from the past. Hannah Farley’s past is mired in darkness, and in this, our heroine struggles to forgive and forget but Hannah’s past has resurfaced, and in this Elijah is determined to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. Staying with Elijah Banks pushes our couple closer together but Hannah is no submissive, and she refuses to bow or bend for any man, Elijah Banks doesn’t do relationships, and in this, his past refuses to let go. When our heroine is targeted by an unknown threat, Elijah goes into alpha mode, in an effort to ensure Hannah’s safety but the threat may be coming from two different directions. The relationship between Hannah and Elijah is a frenemies to lovers, a mutual friends relationship in which Hannah battles between head and heart knowing Elijah’s reputation precedes their time together. Hannah is desperate to keep her distance but demons from the past continue to push at our heroine’s sense of safety and self-worth, and Elijah is the perfect port in the proverbial storm that is coming their way. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used regularly throughout the story . The secondary and supporting characters include Hannah’s boss and Grant’s love Rio Gibson; Elijah’s business partners Grant Twombley, and Sebastian Shark; Sebasitan’s executive assistant Carmen; Hannah’s parents, her sisters, and several security personnel. ELIJAH’S WHIM is a story of secrets, betrayal, vengeance and obsession. The premise is intriguing, captivating and energetic-but the author tends to drag out certain plot points such that questions are asked but have to be answered; the romance is seductive and erotic; the characters are lively, charismatic, determined and desperate. ELIJAH’S WHIM ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Well, Elijah has knocked Grant into second place.. I am completely obsessed with this cocky, confident, dominant as hell and absolutely delicious man known as Elijah Banks! Hannah Gives Elijah a run for his money, she’s sassy, witty and truly someone I believe Elijah’s needs in his life. I loved reading this relationship blossom. It had me swooning, snort-laughing. I love the character development and world building, the bread crumbs as the story progresses. I’m eager to see where the author takes us with these two! Will Hannah be able to tame Elijah’s play boy ways or will the chemistry between these two fizzle out? Victoria Blue delivers an alluring, riveting, suspenseful, passionate, emotional, addictive and all-consuming start to Elijah and Hannah's story! AND THAT DAMN ENDING! OMG!! Bring on book 8!! Worthy of more than 5 Stars!!

This is the seventh book in the Shark’s Edge series and it gives readers Elijah’s story. It is not a standalone and the books need to be read in order. There is so much packed into this that reviewing is a bit of a challenge so as not to spoil the goodness within. Hannah is a chef who works with Abby and Rio. She was brought up in a large family and was always the one who went above and beyond for others. Elijah is her opposite. He learned from a harsh mistress growing up which led him to becoming the man he is…a problem solver, tech wiz who likes control. The two have come together under a guise of protecting Hannah from an unidentified threat. However, the more time they spend together the attraction grows. Will they be able to protect themselves from the developing feelings? As the Selena Gomez song states, “The Heart Wants What It Wants” and I cannot wait to see where these two hearts will take them. Filled with drama, intrigue and witty banter, Ms. Blue has done an outstanding job with this book. I look forward to the continuation of this story!
