About this ebook

Starting over and starting a whole lotta trouble...

Meredith Anderson left her difficult past behind to create a new life for herself in Tall Pines - where she can be the independent, confident woman she always dreamed of being. Now she's a partner in her sister's wedding planning business, helping brides realize their happily-ever-afters...even as she promises herself to never fall in love.

Meredith's sweetness and vulnerability brings out the protective side of rancher Gage Mackenzie - even though their worlds are miles apart. All it takes is one night for desire to take hold of them both, a sizzling encounter that can only lead to the promise of more. But Meredith isn't looking for more, and even if she was, Gage is set to leave Tall Pines behind him...

An emotional whirlwind of a story. Meredith and Gage are each dealing with their own problems. Meredith has escaped abusive relationships with important men in her life and is spreading her wings. Gage appears to be strong and self confident but is still haunted by things from his past. What I love about this story is that each character has vulnerabilities and issues with trust. Yet they embark on a friendship that has surprising results. Received this story for an honest review.

Another winner by this author! I loved the characters, from the brooding loner Gage, to the troubled Meredith who is intent on escaping her past. Their story was engaging and the author made me feel invested in them and wanting them to get a HEA ending. If you enjoy contemporary romance you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list, and, if you enjoy the genre, should probably be on your must read list as well.

Loved this book!! A pure sweet romance develops between Meredith and Gage as she struggles to overcome the years of dominance by her father and ex fiance. Even though they both want more, it seems their lives are on two different paths. She's just earned her independence and wants to stand on her own while he's preparing to leave Tall Pines Ranch to start over on his own. I really loved these characters and getting to know some of their secrets was very interesting. The bit of suspense and drama that was included made the story for me. I definitely recommend this one.

About the author

Victoria James always knew she wanted to be a writer and in grade five, she penned her first story, bound it (with staples) and a cardboard cover and did all the illustrations herself. Luckily, this book will never see the light of day again.

In high school she fell in love with historical romance and then contemporary romance. After graduating University with an English Literature degree, Victoria pursued a degree in interior design and then opened her own business. After her first child, Victoria knew it was time to fulfill the dream of writing romantic fiction.

Victoria is a hopeless romantic who is living her dream, penning happily-ever-after's for her characters in between managing kids and the family business. Writing on a laptop in the middle of the country in a rambling old Victorian house would be ideal, but she's quite content living in suburbia with her husband, their two young children, and very bad cat.
